Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy
At Forever Near Memorial Jewellery, every piece is individually handcrafted and personalised using your own precious inclusions. Because each item is made especially for you, we kindly ask that you read our policy before placing your order.
Cooling-Off Period
We offer a 24-hour cooling-off period from the time your order is placed.
If you change your mind within this time and your order has not yet been started or your inclusion pack has not been dispatched, we will happily cancel your order and issue a full refund.
After this period, work begins on your personalised order and it can no longer be cancelled.
Personalised Jewellery
As all memorial jewellery is personalised and created specifically for you, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds simply because you have changed your mind once production has begun.
This does not affect your statutory rights if your item is faulty or not as described.
Damaged or Faulty Items
We take great care when creating and packaging every piece of jewellery. However, if your order arrives damaged or you believe there is a manufacturing fault, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery by emailing info@forevernearjewellery.com.
Please include:
-
Your order number
-
A description of the issue
-
Clear photographs of the jewellery and packaging where applicable
We'll assess the issue as quickly as possible and advise you of the next steps.
Where a manufacturing fault is confirmed, we'll repair, replace or refund your jewellery in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
Exchanges
As every item is personalised, exchanges are only available where a manufacturing fault has been confirmed.
Where possible, we'll always repair your jewellery before considering a replacement.
Hallmarking & 925 Sterling Silver
All jewellery described as 925 Sterling Silver is made from genuine 925 sterling silver.
Under UK Hallmarking Law, sterling silver items weighing under 7.78 grams are exempt from compulsory hallmarking. Because of this, some of our smaller pieces won't carry a traditional assay hallmark.
Many pieces instead feature a discreet laser-engraved 925 stamp. As with any fine engraving, this marking may become less visible through years of everyday wear, but this doesn't affect the authenticity or quality of the silver.
Our solid gold jewellery is hallmarked in accordance with UK legislation where required.
Engraving Terms & Conditions
Please ensure any fingerprints, handwriting or photographs supplied are of the highest quality possible.
Fingerprint images must have clear, well-defined ridge detail. Unfortunately, blurred, smudged, very dark or low-resolution images cannot always produce a perfect engraving.
Before engraving begins, we'll always review your images and let you know what result can realistically be achieved.
If you're happy to proceed after this discussion, we cannot accept returns or refunds because the finished engraving differs from expectations that were explained and agreed beforehand, as the item has been personalised specifically for you and cannot be resold.
Jewellery Care & Warranty
Jewellery containing decorative crystals is carefully inspected and quality checked before leaving our workshop.
Due to the nature of jewellery being worn daily, we cannot guarantee against crystals becoming dislodged through accidental knocks or normal wear after 4 weeks from delivery.
Our Jewellery Servicing includes replacement of up to two missing accent stones where appropriate, together with professional cleaning, polishing and memorial stone recoating.
Memorial Stone Warranty
We use one of the highest quality UV resins available, extensively tested for long-term durability, clarity and resistance to yellowing.
To keep your memorial stone looking its best, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to perfumes, cosmetics, household chemicals, chlorine, excessive sweat, hot tubs and swimming pools.
For customers who wear their jewellery every day, our annual Jewellery Servicing is an excellent way to restore the memorial stone's original shine.
Your memorial stone is covered by a 6-month workmanship warranty.
If the memorial stone becomes detached due to a manufacturing fault within this period, we'll repair or replace it free of charge.
We may request photographs before confirming the cause of the issue. Damage resulting from accidental impact, misuse, improper care or general wear and tear isn't covered by the warranty.
Our Commitment
Your jewellery represents irreplaceable memories, and we understand just how important that is.
If you ever experience an issue with your piece, please contact us. Even where a repair isn't covered by warranty, we'll always do our very best to restore your jewellery wherever possible and help keep your loved one forever near.

Why has my jewellery turned my skin green or black?
In some cases, sterling silver or gold jewellery may leave a green, grey or black mark on the skin. While this can be alarming, it is not a fault with the jewellery and does not mean the metal is fake.
This is a natural reaction that can be caused by a number of factors, including:
-
Your skin's natural pH levels.
-
Perspiration.
-
Hormonal changes (including pregnancy or menopause).
-
Certain medications or vitamins.
-
Lotions, perfumes, fake tan or cosmetics.
-
Cleaning products or chemicals.
-
Higher acidity in the skin.
Sterling silver naturally contains a small amount of copper, which can occasionally react with certain skin types and leave a temporary green mark. This can usually be washed away with soap and water and doesn't damage either your skin or the jewellery.
If you notice your jewellery leaving marks, we recommend removing it before exercising, swimming or applying beauty products, and regularly cleaning both your jewellery and the area of skin where it's worn.
If you have a known allergy to sterling silver or any of the alloy metals used in 925 sterling silver, we recommend choosing one of our solid 9ct gold pieces instead.
If you're ever unsure whether what you're experiencing is normal, please don't hesitate to get in touch—we're always happy to help.
